futura

    Safety consultancy and training

Development and implementation of control and permanent investigation tools that have already been successfully tested at Futura:

    • FOQUA Analysis (Flight Operations Quality Audit): although this has become a compulsory practice for the European air sector since 2005, Futura has been implementing it since 2001 and has great experience in its execution and processing.
    • LOSA Analysis (Line Operations Safety Audit): this is a highly complex investigation procedure that follows the recommendations of the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organisation) and the methodology of the University of Texas (USA). Futura was the first company in the world to develop it on an independent basis. This analysis consists of an expert flight crew member observing the entire operation of a flight in order to detect any threats, errors, or undesirable states in the aircraft, etc. The results of this analysis provide a very precise barometer of the quality of a company's operations.
The LOSA analysis allows for the improvement and updating of the procedures manuals, the validation of new processes, and changes in training that is given to pilots two times a year and to flight attendants once a year, along with many other improvements.
    • CRM (Company Resource Management): a participative process for the exchange of information between the different individuals involved in flight operations (flight crew, flight attendants, AMTs, flight operations officers), and in which company management is also involved.
    • SMS (Safety Management System): developed entirely within Futura, in accordance with the principles of the University of Southern California (USC). It is the most innovative comprehensive safety management system in the field of Spanish air transport. From 2008 the Civil Aviation authorities will require each company to have its own safety management system, in accordance with the company's resources and form of operating. It has ten basic principles for action, which include a procedures manual for crisis situations.
    • BRISA Incidents Management: The Civil Aviation Authority has recently started to require the use of this application, which is used by the ACETA Consortium.
